Heather Powell

Head of Property & Construction

Heather is the head of the firm’s Property & Construction team. She is a graduate of St Catharine’s College, Cambridge University. She trained as a Chartered Accountant with a ‘Big 4’ firm.

Heather has focused on working with clients in the UK property industry for over 30 years. Her clients have included a UK venture capital fund who invest in UK property developments, managing them on behalf of overseas investors, the UK subsidiaries of a Malaysian development group who are undertaking a landmark office and hotel development and the UK subsidiaries of an Indian group who are building luxury homes in Central London.

Heather will be responsible for ensuring you receive the highest level of service from Blick Rothenberg and will act as a ‘sounding board’ for you and our team throughout the year.

Heather is a Fellow of ICAEW and a founder member of the ICAEW  Real Estate Faculty.

Helena Kanczula

Director

Corporate Tax 

Helena is a Chartered Accountant and member of the ICAEW and ICAEW Tax Faculty. She trained with a Big-4 firm and worked within an in-house tax function of a large quoted group headquartered overseas. She now specialises almost exclusively in advising on real estate.

Helena was included in Tax Journal’s 40 under 40 for 2015, a publication which lists some of the best young professional working in tax. She has also written for the taxation press including articles for Taxation and Tax Adviser magazines.

Ruth Porteous

Manager 

Accounts & Advisory

Having trained in house, Ruth now uses her experience to work with entrepreneurial UK businesses. She advises on the most appropriate structure, and can help set up a business, and then get all necessary UK compliance in place.
